Washington Grid Resilience Program Grant

The Washington Grid Resilience Program, managed by the Washington State Department of Commerce, invites applications starting September 5, 2025, for projects aimed at enhancing grid reliability for electric utilities. With $17.5 million in funding available, the program prioritizes small utilities and encourages initiatives that minimize service disruptions, outage durations, and customer impacts. Maximum funding per project is capped at $3 million, ensuring a focus on effective resilience strategies.

We administer a diverse portfolio of more than 100 programs and several state boards and commissions, all focused on helping communities achieve positive growth.
Electric utilities of all sizes are eligible for this funding. Small utilities will have 40% of the funding reserved for their projects, while 60% will be open to utilities of any size.
Projects should accomplish one or more of the following:

• Reduce the frequency of electricity service disruptions,
• Reduce the duration of outages, and
• Reduce the number of customers impacted
• Funding

There is no minimum award amount, and the maximum amount for a single award is $3,000,000. Applications requesting more than the maximum allowable request will be considered non-responsive and will not be evaluated.
