Background: Washakie Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in Thermopolis on February 26, 1925. The mission is to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism. The Chapter supported community activities and helped preserve Hot Springs County history. After ninety-three years, the Chapter was dissolved in Thermopolis in 2017, and this scholarship was established to recognize the DAR Good Citizen Award qualities.
