WACA Scholarship Application Process

1. Completed Online Application Form including:
- Student ID number
- Personal information (full name, permanent address, email, telephone)
- E-signature confirming understanding of scholarship conditions
- Date of application
2. Academic Information:
- University name and address
- Student's mailing address while attending school
- Enrollment date
- Course of study/major (must be Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Architecture)
- Current academic level (junior, senior, 4th year, 5th year, etc.)
- Full-time enrollment confirmation
- Anticipated graduation date (MM/YY format)
- Cumulative GPA (4-point scale) - minimum 3.0 required
- Hours/credits currently enrolled
3. Financial Need Information:
- Annual tuition cost
- Estimated annual expenses
- Annual scholarships already received
- Parent/spouse contributions
- Summer work (yes/no)
- Other financial contributions
- Full-time work >32 hours/week (yes/no)
- Part-time work information
4. Programs and Activities Involvement:
- Description of involvement in related programs and activities
5. Personal Essay:
- Essay about yourself and why you deserve the WACA scholarship (no word limit)
- Address background, career goals, and aspirations
- Explain what made you choose your major
6. How You Learned About the Scholarship:
- Indicate how you learned about this scholarship opportunity
7. Academic Transcripts:
- Current, complete transcript showing last two academic school grades
- Must display: student name, school name, grades, credit for courses taken, and major
- Important: Students only need to submit official transcripts if WACA contacts them to offer the scholarship award (selection notification triggers transcript request)
Submission Process:
1. Complete all required fields in online form
2. Submit via website
3. Applicants receive email acknowledgment of submission
4. Applications reviewed and evaluated by WACA Scholarship Committee
Awards Process:
1. Committee considers: construction field of study, grades, extracurricular activities, employment experience, financial need, and essay responses
2. Selected applicants may be asked to participate in phone interview with Scholarship Committee representative
3. Applicants notified of scholarship status after Committee selects winners
4. If selected as winner, official transcripts requested to qualify scholarship
5. Scholarship check mailed directly to recipient's school for tuition allocation
