• The National Day of Racial Healing (annually, day after Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

• Grants for individuals
• Capital investments
• Political parties or candidates

Eligibility: Organizations (nonprofits, community-based organizations) working on innovative, community-driven solutions in foundation's priority areas and geographic focus areas

Commitments to Grantseekers:

• Transparency, respectfulness, openness and honesty
• Reviewing and responding to all applications and inquiries with utmost attention
• Making 80% of final funding decisions within 60 business days of receiving formal online proposal
• Providing rationale if request is declined
• Providing opportunities for feedback and using it for continuous improvements

Application Process

Timeline:

1. Letter of Inquiry (LOI) Review: 30 business days to receive response
2. Formal Proposal Review: 60 business days to make final decision after receiving proposal
3. Refinement: WKKF may work with applicant to refine proposal before final decision

Step-by-Step Process:

1. Familiarize yourself with foundation's priorities, geographic focus areas, and funding exclusions
2. Register in grants management system powered by Fluxx
3. Submit a letter of inquiry (LOI) through Fluxx
   • LOI should briefly describe your funding request
   • Provides high-level understanding of your work
4. Receive response within 30 business days via email with next steps
   • Foundation either encourages formal proposal or declines
5. Submit formal proposal (if invited)
6. WKKF reviews for 60 business days
7. WKKF may work with you to refine proposal
8. Final funding decision made
