Volunteer West Virginia Volunteer West Virginia, the lead agency for volunteerism and AmeriCorps in West Virginia, administers $3​ million in federal, state, and local funding​ for AmeriCorps ​and volunteer programs across the state each year. The Commission is guided by a bipartisan board of Commissioners, who are appointed by the Governor of West Virginia. Thanking volunteers is an important part of managing and retaining volunteers. The goal of this project is to help organizations start new volunteer recognition projects and events or improve upon existing events. Eligible organizations may receive up to $500.​ Helpful Tips Be creative! Help your project stand out by developing a creative title and theme. ​In the budget section, please include as much information as possible. List each item you'd like to purchase and the approximate cost. If you are requesting funding for recognition gifts, please list each item you'd like to purchase.Be detailed. Provide helpful information on how you will develop and implement your project.

Unallowable Expenditures IncludeFood – Funding can not be used to purchase food, catering, or meals. Projects that do not adhere to COVID CDC guidelines. Projects must adhere to local and state guidelines for safety.
