Voice Movement Therapy Training Scholarship

Program Overview:
The Foundation provides need-based scholarships to enable highly motivated individuals to attend the foundational VMT training program "The Voice Unchained" or "Singing The Psyche." Tax-deductible funds and gifts are allocated through scholarships regardless of applicant economic circumstances or geographical location.

    Eligibility

  • Individuals with strong commitment to train in Voice Movement Therapy
  • Emotionally ready to undergo an intense and demanding program
  • No discrimination based on race, religion, sexual and gender identification, or other life issues
  • All scholarships are need-based

    Focus Areas

  • Training in Voice Movement Therapy as a creative therapeutic discipline
  • Therapeutic and healing work using the human voice as main modality
  • Training for individuals to become practitioners of VMT

    Geographic Scope

  • International (no geographic restrictions)
  • Training locations include: Martha's Vineyard, MA; Oudtshoorn, South Africa; Marion and Falmouth, MA

    Additional Information

  • Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization
  • Trainings are registered with IRS and US Department of Immigration as a small training school
  • Space for training is limited; early application encouraged
  • The Foundation also funds special projects, research, and community programs (e.g., "Sing for Joy" community choirs for people with Parkinson's Disease)
  • All contributions go directly to programs, not buildings
  • Training requires shared housing during modules and group-based learning
