Overview

History Vince Lombardi's death started a process that has changed the lives of thousands of cancer survivors and the lives of those who still face the fight. In 1971, the first annual Vince Lombardi Memorial Golf Classic was held in Wisconsin with the support of Mrs. Marie Lombardi and other civic-minded individuals. The purpose of the inaugural event was to raise money for cancer research and education in memory of Coach Lombardi. Since 1971, the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation (VLCF) has raised over $21 million in the fight against cancer. It has grown to include additional charitable cancer fundraising events such as the Vince Lombardi Award of Excellence Dinner Ball, Food and Wine event and Lombardi Walk/Run, among others. Many high-profile athletes and celebrities have joined together with the goal of defeating cancer in the true Lombardi spirit of excellence. VLCF will continue to work tirelessly with all of our partners to further our mission of funding advancements in cancer research and compassionate care. Eligibility

Previous and current grant recipients may submit applications.The Foundation has established several major Funding Areas with a focus on of leading edge cancer treatment, research and compassionate care.The Foundation will fund both scientific and medical fellowships.

VLCF will not review applications for families or individuals.The Foundation does not fund capital campaigns, debt reduction or travel/administrative expenses.
