Eligibility

Applicant Categories:

  • Active fire/EMS service personnel in Virginia (Volunteer or Career)

  • Spouses or dependents of active fire/EMS service personnel in Virginia (Volunteer or Career)

  • Non-profit organizations (such as fire departments)
  • Requirements:

  • VFCA Membership required (individual and/or Chief membership) for consideration

  • Must be pursuing a degree that will benefit the Public Safety field

  • Must provide proof of enrollment with scholarship application
    • Eligible Programs/Degrees

    • Virginia Fire Rescue Conference (VFRC) courses
    • Virginia Fire Officer Academy (VFOA)
    • VA Fire Chiefs Academy
    • Associate Degree Programs
    • Bachelor Degree Programs
    • Master Degree Programs
    • Trade Schools
    • Vocational Schools

    Award Details:

  • Awards may vary in amounts up to $2,500

  • Awardees will be invited to Annual VFR Conference for recognition and presentation

  • Attendance at conference is not mandatory

  • Successful applicants notified by January 1st
