VIA Fund Law Student Scholarships

Funder: HNBA VIA (Vision in Action) Fund, the 501(c)(3) charitable arm of the Hispanic National Bar Association

Geographic Scope: United States and its territories

Eligibility:

  • Underserved law students

  • Eligible regardless of immigration status

  • Must be in good academic standing

  • Must demonstrate financial need

  • Must show strong commitment to leadership and service within the legal profession
  • Purpose: Support educational expenses including:

  • Tuition

  • Books and fees

  • Living expenses
  • Application Timeline:

  • Call for applications sent out in July

  • Winners announced in September each year
  • Mission: HNBA VIA is committed to supporting the educational and professional advancement of law students who face financial and structural barriers to success. One hundred percent (100%) of scholarship funds go directly to students.

    Background: While Hispanics represent 25% of K-12 students and 16.5% of college students in the United States, they currently comprise just 12.7% of law students.
