Veterans' Fund The American Australian Association established its Veterans’ Fund in 2017 to provide much needed financial support and assistance to Australian and American honorably discharged post-9/11 military veterans to pursue study in each other’s countries respectively. With more than 73 veteran scholars and alumni and over US $2.8 million awarded to date, the American Australian Association is committed to investing in the future of veterans by supporting educational opportunities which build new skills and create prosperous post-military careers. Graduate Scholarships The scholarship opportunities listed below will support post 9/11 military veterans undertaking or planning to undertake full-time Graduate level study (Masters, Ph.D. or Postdoctoral Research) in the Australia to USA direction and USA to Australia direction. These scholarships will provide support of up to US $40,000 to use toward travel, living, tuition and other associated educational costs and may be used in conjunction with other veteran support such as the GI Bill. Veterans’ Fund Graduate Scholarships (multiple offered in either direction): Supports American and Australian veterans to study in any disciplinary field.Incitec Pivot Ltd Scholarship & Internship: Will support one American Veteran in the field of engineering, business management (operations) or leadership. On successful completion of study, an internship with Dyno Nobel will be offered in Australia or the US.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the Graduate Veterans’ Scholarship in the Australia to USA direction, applicants must:Be an honorably discharged post 9/11 military veteran from AustraliaBe an Australian citizen or permanent resident Be undertaking or planning to undertake Graduate level study (Masters, Ph.D. or Postdoctoral Research) at an accredited educational institution in the USBe studying or planning to study for a minimum of one-year full-time in the USScholarships must be used at a minimum of 6 months or a maximum of 1 year.Please note, it is not necessary to have already been accepted into the institution at the time of application. Prospective students are welcome to apply. Recipients will have a maximum of 2 years from the date of the grant being awarded to accept and use the award. Any remaining or unused grant amounts will be forfeited after this time.

Ineligibility

Dual citizens are not eligible.Under no circumstances will the American Australian Association fund an individual who was previously given a scholarship or grant.
