Overview

The Vallejo Police Officers' Association awards up to five $500 scholarships annually to college-bound graduating high school seniors. The scholarships are named in honor of fallen officers who made the ultimate sacrifice to the City of Vallejo and its citizens, as well as Lieutenant Doug Clark who supported high school seniors in the community.

    Eligibility

  • Who may apply: All graduating high school seniors bound for a two or four-year college or university
  • Must have acceptance letter from an accredited college or university

Application Process

CHECKLIST OF APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Completed application form—legibly written with all questions answered
2. Acceptance letter from an accredited college or university
3. Copy of most recent transcript
4. Typed essay (required):
- Maximum two pages
- Font: Times New Roman, size 12
- Double-spaced with one-inch margins
- Must address the following topics:
- Your journey to high school
- Your intended academic and extracurricular activities during college
- How you will apply what you have learned to your post-college plans and your aspirations for the community

WHAT NOT TO INCLUDE:

  • Do NOT include recommendation letters

  • Do NOT include resumes

  • Do NOT use staples or paper clips

  • Do NOT include photos
  • SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:
    1. Make a photocopy of your application and essay for your reference
    2. Mail completed materials to:
