Applicants, supervised by an IEEE AP-S member, must be full-time students with a minimum 75% GPA, and may conduct 16-week projects. This initiative encourages research and collaboration in advanced electromagnetic topics, enhancing academic pursuits and professional growth in engineering disciplines.

Overview

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) has committed US$102,000 to fund 34 Undergraduate Summer Research Scholarships (USRS). The USRS is introduced to promote the Society's areas of interest (listed below) among undergraduate students worldwide to ignite their interest in pursuing graduate studies in these areas. Applications are solicited from undergraduate students in conjunction with a faculty supervisor or industry supervisor to conduct a 16-week research program. Projects must be within the scope of AP-S areas of interest such as: antennas, including analysis, design, development, measurement, and testing;radiation, propagation, and the interaction of electromagnetic waves with discrete and continuous media;applications and systems pertinent to antennas, propagation, and sensing, such as applied optics, millimeter- and submillimeter-wave techniques, antenna signal processing and control, radio astronomy, and propagation and radiation aspects of terrestrial and space-based communication, including wireless, mobile, satellite, and telecommunications. USRSs may be held in conjunction with IEEE AP-S travel grants and other AP-S awards.
