UNCLAIMED PROPERTY DIVISION
The Unclaimed Property Division collects and safeguards abandoned property from banks, stockbrokers, credit unions and insurance companies to reunite with rightful owners or heirs. Banks, stockbrokers, credit unions, and insurance companies are required, by law, to transfer abandoned property to the Office of the Comptroller after a period of inactivity. This service is provided at no cost to Marylanders and can be claimed in 4 simple steps.
