Program Name: Local One BIG Scholarship Program

Focus Area: Educational funding for college and trade school students

Geographic Scope: UFCW Local One service areas (Upstate New York and Pennsylvania)

History: Since 1993, the program has awarded scholarships to more than 18,000 students totaling nearly $17 million

Eligible Use: Scholarships may be used for:

• Accredited colleges
• Certified trade schools

Eligibility:

• Members actively working for a Local One participating employer
• Dependents of eligible members
• Grandchildren of eligible members

1. Access Application Documents:
- 2026 UFCW Scholarship Application (writeable PDF)
- 2026 Volunteer-Activities Form (writeable PDF)
- Participating Employers List 2026

2. Complete Required Materials:
- Completed application form
- Essay (typed separately, saved as PDF)
- Official transcript
- Volunteer-Activities form

3. Submit Documents:
- Email submission address: education@ufcwone.org
- Make a copy of application and activities forms before filling out (they are writeable PDFs)
- Essay must be typed separately and saved as PDF
- Official transcripts can be submitted electronically to education@ufcwone.org OR mailed to:
