UCAIR's annual grants program provides funding to support projects that directly reduce pollutants and emissions, provide research on air quality impacts to Utah's health and economy, or create resources for communities and municipalities to use in local air quality improvement activities.

• Has awarded 47 grants totaling more than $1 million dollars

Award Amount

• Average grant: $20,000 - $30,000
• Total awarded (2023-2024 cycle): $116,500 to six recipients

• Idle-free technology for school buses
• Replacing 2-stroke engine machinery with 4-stroke or electric engines for small businesses and homeowners
• Statewide smoking vehicle hotline
• Clear the Air Challenge
• Electric vehicle infrastructure and readiness
• Zero-emission lawn care expansion
• Clean energy financing for multifamily affordable housing
• Electric utility cart/equipment replacement
• Electric cargo vehicles

Selection Criteria

Organizations are selected based on the measurable impact the program or project would provide toward reducing emissions at home, in the community, and at work.

Funding Source

• Grant recipients encouraged to match a percentage of grant amount
