Tuscora Park Health and Wellness Foundation Nursing Scholarships

Purpose: Support nursing students in their pursuit of accredited nursing degrees

Eligibility:

  • Students pursuing degrees in accredited nursing programs

  • May apply annually while in nursing program

  • Preference for students with connection to Barberton area

  • Tuscora Park Health and Wellness Nursing Scholarship: General nursing support

  • Bernadine H. Kovalchin, R.N. Scholarship Fund: Honors RN with 13 years at Barberton Citizens Hospital; supports vocational medical careers

  • Scholarship in Memory of Emma Rist, RN: Honors former head nurse of Coronary Care Unit at Barberton Citizens Hospital

  • Carol A. Storad Nursing Excellence Scholarship: Recognizes exemplary nursing; honors 43-year career at Barberton Citizens Hospital and high school teaching

  • Christine Elaine Weigand RN Memorial Scholarship: Helps future nurses overcome obstacles; honors 30-year RN career in orthopedic nursing and emergency care

    • Award Amount: Multiple scholarships per student possible; 2022 recipients received varying amounts totaling $38,800
