  • Assist individuals in workforce development programs working towards credentials to become construction apprentices

  • Strengthen partnerships with local construction workforce development programs

  • Provide support to individuals seeking employment or education in construction

  • Increase diversity in the construction workforce

  • Educate the future leaders of the construction industry through financial assistance and career development

    • Eligibility:

  • Individuals enrolled in or graduating from construction workforce development programs

  • Currently available through Cypress Mandela Training Center (Oakland, CA) and Portland Youth Builders (Portland, OR)

    • Award Components:

  • $5,000 scholarship award upon graduation from program

  • Opportunity to be considered for a three-month paid internship with a business industry partner

    • Impact Since Inception:

  • $49,000 awarded to 32 graduates

    • About Tony Williamson:
    Tony Williamson began his career as a union carpenter and became one of the Bay Area's finest and most respected superintendents. He exemplified integrity, leadership, passion, and excellence. His passion for mentoring and empowering others in the skilled trades inspired this scholarship.
