Tom Weiskopf Scholarship Fund

Purpose: Honors Tom Weiskopf's legacy and supports local residents who work in Big Sky and are looking to improve their lives through continuing education with degrees or certifications.

Geographic Scope: Big Sky, Montana

Eligibility:

• Age 18 or older
• Must work in Big Sky
• Looking to improve their lives through continuing education (degrees or certifications)

Funding Goals:

• Build and develop a skill set
• Start a business in Big Sky
• Increase professional opportunities
• Improve the quality of one's life

Award Amounts (based on recent awards):

• 2025: $1,200 per recipient
• 2024: $2,500 per recipient
• 2023: $2,500-$2,600 per recipient

Application Timeline:

• Proposals accepted year-round
• Submissions via email

Application Process

Proposal Requirements (2 page maximum):

1. Name of employer and applicant's contact information
2. Employer with endorsement from employee OR employee with endorsement from employer
3. Detailed plan of how this educational opportunity will allow professional advancement in Big Sky
4. Written explanation of why this educational opportunity is important - how you got here and where you'd like to go
5. Length of the program, total cost, and requested amount
6. Expectation that the program will be completed

Required Attachments:

• Minimum 2 recommendation letters (at least one professional and one personal)
• Written endorsement from employer (can be same as professional recommendation)
• Documentation showing acceptance into the educational program

Submission Format:

• Proposals must be emailed as PDF attachments to hannah@spanishpeaksfoundation.org
• Year-round submission (rolling applications)
