Timely Grant Program

Program Description:
Launched in 2018, the Timely Grant Program offers quick, flexible funding for urgent needs, such as pilot programs, capital projects, and one-time initiatives. The Timely Grant may also be used to introduce an agency to the United Way outside of the regular long-term funding cycle.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must identify a community need within one of United Way's core pillars
• Must propose a plan to address the identified need
• Must be affiliated with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

Award Information:

• Amount: Caps for Timely Grant awards are set annually by the United Way Board of Directors (specific amount not listed)
• Review Process: Applications are reviewed every other month by requisite committees and finalized at United Way Board of Directors' bimonthly meetings

1. Submit application during open period
2. Applications reviewed every other month by requisite committees
3. Final decisions made at United Way Board of Directors' bimonthly meetings
4. Awards announced following board approval

• Propose a concrete plan to address the need
• Proof of 501(c)(3) nonprofit status

Reporting Requirements:

• Simple reporting requirements (less extensive than long-term funding)
