Thomas A. Costello Memorial Alumni Award
Funder: Thomas A. Costello Legacy Foundation (in partnership with Wisconsin School of Business)
Geographic Scope: University of Wisconsin-Madison, Wisconsin School of Business
Purpose: Honors Thomas A. Costello's legacy while inspiring young Badgers to embrace the "pay-it-forward" culture which defined him. Celebrates alumni who exemplify Tom's values of generosity, leadership, and commitment to uplifting others.
Eligibility: Recent Badger graduate (BBA from Wisconsin School of Business) working in finance who demonstrates:
Background: Established by the Wisconsin School of Business to honor Thomas A. Costello (BBA '19, Finance, Economics, and Risk Management & Insurance triple major). Tom was highly engaged in student organizations including Wisconsin Investment Banking Club and founded Insights Wisconsin and The Federal Reserve Challenge. He worked as a summer analyst and full-time analyst with Rothschild & Co. in New York. Known for mentoring hundreds of students and helping them achieve career success. Tragically passed away on June 11, 2021, at age 24.
First Recipient: Patrick Sweeney (April 2025) - Fellow Badger in Finance and early college friend of Tom
