The Maria Loredo Workforce Development Fund

An application-based tuition assistance program that provides current staff members at Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center with financial support for education and training opportunities.

Purpose: Supports staff pursuing education and certificate-level training that could directly benefit the organization and advance their careers.

Geographic Scope: Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center, Oregon (US)

Eligible Programs of Study

• General college coursework related to AA, Bachelor's degree, or other higher education
• Pre-requisite classes in preparation for other programs
• Certification programs related to employee's current job or future role

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be a current employee of Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center
• Must work at least 16 hours per week (exceptions rare)
• Eligible to participate immediately after being hired
• Not available to temporary, seasonal, on-call employees, contractors, students, allied partners, or non-employees

Funding Details

• Maximum annual assistance: $15,000 per employee
• Application-based and targeted reimbursement program

What is NOT Funded

• Programs for non-employees (temporary, seasonal, on-call staff, contractors, students, allied partners)
