The Balinda Hunt Award for Nursing

Purpose: To recognize a nurse or nurse aide within the Nursing Services Department who exemplifies the values of kindness, compassion, empathy, commitment to high quality care, and teamwork.

Background: This award was created by Dr. Michael McGough to honor the legacy of Balinda Hunt, an LPN who dedicated over 30 years of service to Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community, and his mother Peggy, who was a resident that benefited from Balinda's compassionate care.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Nominees must meet ALL of the following criteria:
  • Be employed as a nurse or nurse aide within the CKV Nursing Services department
  • Be employed for at least 6 months
  • Demonstrate consistent behavior aligned with the award's core values (kindness, compassion, empathy, commitment to high quality care, and teamwork)

Who Can Nominate:
All team members, residents, villagers, volunteers, families, and guests are invited to submit a nomination.

Nomination Period:
Open annually during the month of January (deadline: January 31)
