The 1772 Foundation Connecticut Matching Grant for Historic Preservation

The 1772 Foundation Connecticut Matching Grant for Historic Preservation offers up to $10,000 annually for 501(c)(3) non-profits in Connecticut to support preservation projects. Preservation is not just a feel good exercise: tourism, rehabilitation, maintenance, and related activities have added more than 6,000 jobs and nearly half a billion dollars to the economy in the last decade. For every $100 invested in the rehabilitation of a historic structure, some $83 ends up in the pockets of Connecticut workers.
In addition, preservation and sustainability go hand in hand. Historic buildings tend to be built better and are more comfortable than current construction. Their warm materials often appeal to the heart. And the “greenest” building is a building that’s lasted for generations.

The 1772 Foundation in cooperation with Preservation Connecticut has grant funding available annually for non-profits (excluding churches, schools, and municipalities) up to $10,000 that requires a one to one match.
Qualifying preservation projects are:

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply, organizations must have a 501 (c) (3) IRS designation and have closed any previously awarded matching grant.1:1 Matching funds are required

Ineligibility

Funding will not be provided for churches, schools, and municipalities.This grant will not reimburse work that is already completed or in progress.
