Teacher's Program

NAEIR's Teacher's Program provides licensed teachers and eligible education professionals with free or deeply discounted access to donated classroom supplies and educational materials.

Geographic Scope: National (United States)

Focus Areas:

• Elementary and middle school classroom supplies
• Educational materials and resources
• Brand-name products including pens, pencils, crayons, art supplies, books, stationery, highlighters, scissors, and incentive items (stickers)
• Seasonal supplies themed around holidays (Christmas, Easter, Halloween)
• Apparel (rare availability)

Eligibility:

• Licensed teachers who actively work in a classroom
• Paraprofessionals
• Librarians
• School counselors
• Social workers
• Psychologists
• Other education professionals (subject to approval)
• All applications are subject to approval

Key Requirements:

• All products received must be used solely in the classroom for students
• Products cannot be bartered, traded, sold, or exchanged for goods or services
• Products cannot be given to volunteers, officers, clergy, or employees for personal use
• Members must maintain adequate books and records reflecting merchandise received
• An order must be placed at least once every two years to keep account active

• Free registration for qualified teachers
• Unlimited access to extensive online inventory (with exception of Big Book Catalog)
• Free shipping for online inventory orders
• Palletized items available (shipping charges applicant's responsibility)
• Products only cost nominal handling and processing fees (typically less than one-third of retail/discount store prices)
• Products donated by well-known companies: Crayola, Newell Brands, 3M, Avery Products, Hallmark, Walgreens, and others

Background:

• Instituted in 2012 in response to community needs
• Program formally launched August 14, 2012
• One of NAEIR's initiatives to support teachers who typically spend $500-$600 out of pocket annually for basic school supplies
• NAEIR (National Association for the Exchange of Industrial Resources) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Galesburg, Illinois
• Member of Independent Sector, the national organization bringing together nonprofits, foundations, and corporate giving programs

Application Process

1. Complete the online Teacher's Program Application
   • Visit the application page at https://www.naeir.org/members/teachers-program/teachers-application/
   • Provide required information including first name, last name, and email address
   • Provide school name, address, and phone number
   • Provide your position at the school
   • Provide home address and phone number (used for summer shipping)
2. Application Review
   • All applications are subject to approval by NAEIR
   • Applicants will receive an email verification once application is received
   • New members cannot use the shopping website until approved
3. Membership Activation
   • Once approved, members can immediately start shopping and saving
   • Registration is completely free
   • Only nominal handling and processing fees apply to products selected
4. Account Maintenance
   • If membership has been deactivated, contact NAEIR to update and reactivate
   • If school location changes, update membership with new school's name, address, phone number, and position
   • To keep account active, place at least one order every two years
