Teach for Tomorrow Grant

Overview: The Guardian Credit Union Foundation provides grants for teachers and school-based professionals to develop and implement innovative educational initiatives.

Award Details:

  • Amount: $1,000 per grant

  • Number of Awards: Up to 20 grants annually

  • Total Annual Funding: Up to $20,000
  • Geographic Scope: Educators throughout Guardian Credit Union's 16 membership counties in Alabama: Autauga, Butler, Chilton, Coffee, Coosa, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale, Elmore, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Montgomery, Pike, Russell, and Tallapoosa

    Focus Areas: Grant funds can be used for:

  • New sets of books

  • STEM or STEAM initiatives

  • School-wide projects

  • Virtual learning experiences

  • Other exciting educational opportunities
    • Eligibility

    • Any educator or school-based professional working in a public or private K-12 school
    • Must live, work, or worship in one of the 16 eligible Alabama counties
    • Ineligibility: Recipients from the previous cycle are ineligible to receive the award in the next round

      Important Dates

    • Application Period: June 16 - July 31
    • Social Media Voting: August 6 - 8
    • Winners Announced: August 12
    • Claim Deadline: September 30 (recipients must claim checks by this date or grant becomes void)

    How the Grant Works

    1. Applicants select a category 2. Complete online application 3. Submit required video 4. Videos participate in social media voting on GCU Foundation's Facebook page 5. Grants awarded to entries with the most likes and shares 6. Foundation visits recipients at their schools to celebrate the work 7. Ongoing connection after project completion

    2. Select a grant category
    3. Record and submit a short video (required - see Video Requirements below)
    4. Submit application during application period (June 16 - July 31)

    Video Requirements:

  • Length: Under 3 minutes

  • Content: Showcase your idea, vision, or project

  • Include:

  • - Your detailed vision
    - How the grant will impact students
    - What resources you'll need to make it happen

  • Begin with a clear introduction

  • Capture viewer's attention quickly

  • Showcase your personality and passion

  • Highlight your project impact and vision

  • Ensure adequate video and audio quality
  • Selection Process:

  • All submitted videos participate in social media voting on the GCU Foundation's Facebook page

  • Applicants are encouraged to like, share, and promote their video entry to gain likes and shares

  • Grants awarded to entries with the most likes and shares on original posts
  • Deadline: July 31 (annually)
