Susan L. Lichter Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Overview: Annual scholarship supporting teens from greater Ann Arbor in their participation in peer-based Israel programs.

Background: Established in memory of Susan Lichter (z"l), who had a deep connection to Israel developed through her own Israel travel and learning experiences. Created by Paul and Carolyn Lichter.

Award Purpose: To enable teens to visit Israel and develop connections to the worldwide Jewish community

Eligible Applicants:

  • Teens from greater Ann Arbor

  • Participants in peer-based summer and gap year programs in Israel
  • Supported Programs:

  • Habonim Dror's Machane Bonim Israel summer program

  • Other peer-based Israel programs
  • Geographic Scope: Greater Ann Arbor, Michigan (for applicants); Israel (program location)

    Impact: Since 2009, the scholarship has enabled dozens of teens from across the community to visit Israel
