Overview
Summit County Trail and Greenway Grant Program
Geographic Scope: Summit County, Ohio
Overview: Communities in Summit County are eligible to receive grant funds for trail projects identified on the Summit County Trails Plan through the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition's annual grant program.
- Funding is made possible through the leadership of Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro and Summit County Council
- Since 2001, Summit County Executive and Council have dedicated funds toward projects identified on the Summit County Trails Plan
- Leverage ratio: For every $1 of Summit County funds, an additional $12 is leveraged in federal, state and local investment

- Summit Metro Parks' Bike & Hike Trail
- Other regional and local trail networks
Eligible Projects
Projects must be identified on the Summit County Trails Plan and connect to:- Summit Metro Parks' water trails signage
- Bath Township's North Fork Preserve of Bath entry sign and kiosk
- City of Cuyahoga Falls' Swain Maple Sugaring Trail
- City of Barberton's stormwater and Towpath Trail amenities study

Application Process
1. Obtain Application: Download the 2026 grant cycle application from www.ohioeriecanal.org
2. Prepare Submission: Print 2 copies of the completed grant application
3. Submit: Mail application to:
