2. Educational Background
- All degrees earned with awarding institution and date of award
- Knowledge of ancient Greek (with specific requirements based on applicant status)
- Other ancient and modern languages (years of study and proficiency level)
- English language ability (if not native speaker)
- Other courses in ancient studies taken or taught
- Previous papyrology training (if applicable)

3. Academic Status (Required)
- Applicants must indicate: PhD student OR post-doctoral applicant

4. For PhD Students Only
- Doctoral qualifying exams passed (oral or written) and dates
- Dissertation focus
- Dissertation director name

5. For Post-doctoral Applicants Only
- Dissertation title, defense date, and director name
- List of pertinent awards and publications

6. Personal Statement
- Response to: "What do you expect to gain from participation in this summer institute?"
- Length: One printed page maximum
- Format: Can be entered in text field or uploaded as PDF, DOC, or DOCX (max 25 MB)

7. Letters of Recommendation
- Two letters required, sent directly by referees to: mike.sampson@umanitoba.ca
- For PhD students: One letter should be from dissertation director or principal advisor; both should address language proficiency
- Applicant provides names and email addresses of two referees

8. Curriculum Vitae
