Overview:
Students who give blood, recruit donors, and/or organize blood drives qualify to receive the Student Impact Award. Recipients must earn six credits towards the award before high school graduation.

Eligibility:

  • High school students

  • Must earn 6 credits before high school graduation
  • Credit Opportunities:

  • 1 credit: Per blood donation

  • 1 credit: Per new or lapsed donor recruited

  • 1 credit: Per blood drive volunteering/planning

  • 6 credits: Serving as Blood Drive Coordinator
  • Recognition:
    In the 2023 school year, ImpactLife recognized 421 High School Student Impact Award winners from 289 high schools across the blood center's service region.

    Application Process

    How to Earn the Award:
    1. Earn credits through eligible activities:
    - Donate blood (1 credit per donation)
    - Recruit a new or lapsed donor (1 credit per donor)
    - Volunteer for blood drive planning (1 credit per blood drive)
    - Serve as Blood Drive Coordinator (6 credits per blood drive)
    2. Accumulate minimum of 6 credits before high school graduation
    3. Submit application upon reaching 6 credits
