Purpose: The IEF awards Innovation Fund grants to Irvington High School students to support student-initiated innovative projects and initiatives.

Focus Areas

The Innovation Fund supports student-created projects including but not limited to:
• Award-winning app development
• Sustainable building projects (e.g., tiny house construction)
• Community engagement and social justice initiatives (e.g., gun violence prevention events)
• Student clubs and organizations (chess club, cultural clubs, peer support groups)

Background

With the help of the IEF and community mentors, students have been able to create award-winning apps, build a fully functional sustainable tiny house, and host a gun violence prevention event that was well-covered by the media and featured local politicians. Recent programs include: Innovation Fund - Chess Club, Innovation Fund - Asian American Club, and Bulldogs Building Bridges.
