STS Marketing College Scholarship

Funder: Mississippi Tourism Association (MTA)

Program Description: The Mississippi Tourism Association awards a scholarship for the Southeast Tourism Society Marketing College held in Macon, Georgia. The program spans three years with one week of intensive training each year, taught by instructors from the tourism/hospitality industry.

Award Details:

Coverage: Full tuition, meals, and lodging as provided by STS

Out-of-pocket costs: Participants responsible only for transportation

Geographic Scope: Mississippi (applicants must be working in MS tourism industry)

Program Duration: 3-year commitment (one week per year)

Host Institution: Southeast Tourism Society, Mercer University, Macon, GA

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be a member of MTA in good standing during application and throughout scholarship years
• Must currently be employed in the tourism or allied professional field
• Must complete the course within five years of original enrollment
• Must reside in and work in Mississippi

Post-Award Requirements

• Recipients must sign an agreement to repay the scholarship if they leave the Mississippi Tourism Industry within one year of program completion

Selection Process

• Scholarships awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis
• Recipient announced at MTA Spring Summit in Greenwood, MS
