Strong Foundation Grant - Major Capital Grants

The Strong Foundation Grant offers funding for youth-oriented programs and organizations in Hawaii, with an emphasis on major capital needs. Organizations can apply for one grant every three years, and must secure sponsorship from a Strong Foundation trustee to submit a request. This ensures that the trustee is knowledgeable about the charity's mission and can advocate on its behalf during the foundation's annual meeting.

There are no multi-year grants or grants to endowments, and each organization will be limited to a maximum of one grant every three years.

Specific Eligibility Criteria
Grant requests must be supported by a Strong Foundation trustee. Requesting organization is responsible for obtaining a commitment from the foundation’s trustee prior to submission of the request; the trustee should be sufficiently knowledgeable about the charity and its request to be its champion at the foundation’s annual meeting.

Eligibility

Trustee sponsorship: You must obtain a trustee sponsor in order to apply for a grant. Proposals that don’t have sponsorship will be declined.The following are the grantmaking criteria established by the Strong Foundation Trustees:  Grants will be made to Hawaii 501(c)(3) charities only. Grants are predominantly for capital needs and of a major nature. Grants are primarily to be youth oriented.
