Overview

SOH provides grants to Oklahoma residents for residential wind and hail mitigation on new and existing, owner-occupied, primary residence single-family homes. The program funds roof upgrades to the FORTIFIED Home™ - Roof™ - High Wind designation with the Hail Supplement standard. Funding comes from the insurance industry in Oklahoma.

Eligibility:

  • Oklahoma residents claiming their primary residence

  • Single-family, owner-occupied homes only (no apartments, duplexes, condos, manufactured/mobile homes)

  • Home must be in good repair

  • Must have in-force homeowners insurance with wind coverage

  • Must have flood insurance if in a FEMA special flood hazard area

  • Must obtain FORTIFIED Home evaluation from approved evaluator
  • Purpose: Wind and hail mitigation to strengthen homes against severe storms and reduce insurance risk. Homeowners may receive discounts on wind insurance premiums and deductibles after completion.
