Steve Nothem II Memorial Scholarship
Overview: Created in October 2022 to honor Officer Steve Nothem, who was lost to tragic circumstances. The scholarship rewards and encourages young people to enter law enforcement and be part of the Carrollton community.
Geographic Scope: Carrollton, TX (must reside within the city for the majority of the 2023-2024 school year)
Award Amount: $5,000 (one award per year)
Eligibility:
Funding: Funded through the Charities portion of the Carrollton Police Officers Association, supported by fundraisers including the Mother Son Monster Mash, Daddy Daughter Dance, and Steve Nothem Golf Tournament

Application Process
Required Materials:
1. Completed scholarship application form
2. Copy of college acceptance letter or course schedule
3. High school transcript
4. 2-3 reference letters (preference for at least one reference from law enforcement)
5. Two-to-three-page essay describing:
- Work within the community
- Post high school goals
- Interest in law enforcement career
- Steps taken to develop law enforcement interests
