These scholarships offer countless opportunities to help ease the financial burden of continuing their education. Spearfish Volunteer Firefighters' Association Scholarship To provide financial support to individuals pursuing an education and training in the public safety industry. The Spearfish Fire Department, established in the late 1880s as a volunteer organization, serves the northern Black Hills in western South Dakota. Its mission is to protect lives and property within the fire protection district and mutual aid area. Additionally, the department advocates for fire safety and provides fire safety education in local schools and the wider community.
