Here’s how our grants work Nonprofits with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status to provide services to Broward County can apply for grants. Individuals are not eligible. Nonprofits must have a Gold Seal of Transparency from Candid to apply for Community Foundation grants. Other grant eligibility requirements are described in our Focus Area Grant Guide. We offer grants twice a year for four grantmaking Focus Areas (Social & Economic Mobility, Arts & Culture, Education & Youth Enrichment, Healthy & Thriving Communities). Grant applications for two of our Focus Areas (Strong Nonprofit Community and Building Community & Opportunity) are by invitation only.
