SMOFCon Scholarship

Purpose: To send promising convention runners to SMOFCon, the annual convention-runners conference.

Geographic Scope: Originally focused on Bay Area (San Francisco Bay Area) conrunners, though occasionally awards have been made to people outside the Bay Area.

Target Audience: Convention runners in training; promising conrunners with an interest in convention management and the science fiction community.

Program History:

• Originally created by SFSFC to support Bay Area conrunners attending SMOFCon
• Has been awarded in multiple years including 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009
• In 2010, the scholarship was not offered because SMOFCon was held locally in San Jose, making it more accessible to Bay Area fans
• Program was to be revisited in 2011
