Overview: KSKJ Life has been giving back to communities throughout the U.S. since 1894. The Small Steps, Big Impact Giving Back Program encourages all eligible members to make an impact within their communities through individual or community-based volunteer initiatives.

Geographic Scope: All eligible members in states where KSKJ Life is licensed: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MD, ME, MI, MN, MS, MT, NC, NE, NM, OH, PA, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, WI, and Washington D.C.

Award: $100 donation to chosen 501(c)(3) charity upon completion of requirements

Maximum: A maximum of 50 applications will be granted per year

Eligibility Requirements

• All KSKJ Life members in good standing can participate
• Only 1 event per member per year will be approved
• Must engage in an individual or community-based volunteer activity with a minimum of three participants (including family or friends)
• Must choose a charity registered as a 501(c)(3) organization that aligns with personal values and interests
• Volunteer service must be consistent with good citizenship and support important charitable goals of KSKJ Life such as:
- Fostering education - Preserving the environment - Promoting health and human services

Program Requirements

• Event Request Timeline: Submit event requests a minimum of 60 days prior to event date
• "Starts With You" Kit: Once application is approved, KSKJ Life will mail a kit including:
- Instructions for your event - Flyers to learn about and promote KSKJ Life - Three t-shirts to promote unity and visibility
• Social Media Engagement: Share volunteer experiences on social media, making posts public and tagging @KSKJ Life
• Community Impact Form: Submit photos and documentation for volunteer events
• Donation Release: KSKJ Life will make a $100 donation to chosen charity once all requirements (including photo submissions and social media tagging) are met

Suggested Event Ideas

• Clean up a local park or highway
• Volunteer at a nursing home
• Participate in a food drive
• Team up with an organization to help with their fundraiser

Terms and Conditions

• All participants must adhere to guidelines outlined in "Starts With You" kit, including use of provided t-shirts and proper documentation
• KSKJ Life reserves the right to deny funding to any organization not consistent with KSKJ Life's purpose and mission
• Terms and conditions are based on funds availability and subject to change at any time
• A maximum of 50 applications will be granted per year
• KSKJ Life may share your story and images on promotional materials (annual reports, newsletters, social media, website, etc.)
