Geographic Scope: Portland, Oregon and surrounding areas

Mission: The Portland Parks Foundation mobilizes support to improve Portland's system of parks, natural areas, and public spaces through small grants that support programs, projects, and general operations of local organizations.

Focus Areas

• Foster equitable access to urban parks, natural areas, community gardens, and community recreation centers
• Support organizations working to fill gaps in access to parks
• Prioritize low-income populations, communities of color, and other historically marginalized groups
• Programs and projects addressing various community needs including:
- Food opportunities and justice - Forest and river preservation and enjoyment - Youth and community education - Green space creation - Outdoor recreation and nature access

Eligibility

• Local organizations dedicated to increasing accessibility of Portland's urban parks and nature areas
• Must embody PPF's mission of helping people help parks
• Organizations serving underserved and historically marginalized communities preferred

Funding Pattern

• Spring 2022: 13 organizations awarded $25,000 total
• Fall 2022: 12 organizations awarded $24,000 total
• Spring 2025: 10 organizations awarded $20,000 total
• Fall 2024: 12 organizations awarded $24,000 total
