Skagit Valley College Associate Degree & Vocational-Technical Scholarships

Overview: Fund allied health studies, education and early childhood studies, return-to-work training, industrial or automotive technology, marine technology, and general studies or vocational-technical studies that lead to an associate degree, license, or certification.

Named Scholarships Include:

  • General Studies: Three @ $4,000 (Women/Men, GPA 2.0-3.5 only)

  • Shirley & Larry Bowlin Industrial Technology & Transportation: One @ $4,000 (Women/Men) - Automotive, manufacturing, diesel, machine, and welding

  • Carol Heckler Health Sciences & Allied Health Sciences: One @ $4,000 (Women/Men)

  • Marge Thomas Education Studies: One @ $4,000 (Women/Men)

  • Doris Tursi Return-to-Work or Career Change Training: One @ $4,000 (Women/Men)

  • John Tursi Multi-Occupational Trades: One @ $4,000 (Women/Men)
  • Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be applying to or attending Skagit Valley College

  • Current resident of zip code 98221 with proof of residence; OR

  • Anacortes High School or Cap Sante High School graduating senior or graduate; OR

  • Anacortes Home School and Public/Private School graduating senior or graduate who is current resident of zip code 98221 with proof of residence; OR

  • Student attending school in Anacortes with proof of attendance

  • Scholarships are for one year

  • Cannot have received two or more university/college/technical school scholarships from SIA previously
  • Acceptable Forms of Proof of Residence in zip code 98221:

  • Student ID

  • Driver's license

  • Utility bill

  • Parental utility bill

  • Lease/rental agreement
  • Geographic Scope: Anacortes, WA area (zip code 98221); Skagit Valley College students
