SJICF: Resiliency Grant

The San Juan Island Community Foundation's Emergency Response Fund offers crucial support for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations facing urgent needs in health and human services due to crises. Established in 1994, SJICF aims to enhance community life through grantmaking and resources for local nonprofits, prioritizing assistance for vulnerable populations. By fostering philanthropy and addressing pressing community issues, SJICF plays a vital role in sustaining a thriving San Juan Island community.

NOTE: Before you submit your grant application, we ask that you first discuss your project idea with us. Please call our office at (360) 378-1001 to schedule a pre-application meeting. Many applicants find these conversations spark creative ideas and help refine their proposals
About SJICF
The San Juan Island Community Foundation is a grantmaking nonprofit organization dedicated to the San Juan Island community.
They witnessed the important work being done by local nonprofit organizations and recognized the value of investing in their own community.
We are made up of more than 80 funds representing individuals, families and organizations. SJICF is unique among local nonprofit organizations because we strive to be a resource for both our donors and local nonprofit organizations.
SJICF provides leadership for key community issues. We distribute grants to support and advance local nonprofit activities and projects. We find ways to address short and long-term needs, and with the help of donors, we seek to address these needs through grant making and building a community endowment to support a thriving San Juan Island community long into the future.
Our work with community nonprofits is not limited to grantmaking. We are cultivating a strong leadership role in the community supporting nonprofits with advice and resources.
The San Juan Island Community Foundation is a federally qualified 501(c)(3) organization and is registered with the Secretary of State in Olympia, Washington.
Emergency Response Fund
If your San Juan Island 501(c)3 nonprofit organization is in need of emergency grant funding in the areas of health and human services as a result of a crisis, you can apply for this grant.
Priority will be given to needs that serve vulnerable community members in the areas of health and human services.

Eligibility

Per IRS regulations, only charitable, tax-exempt organizations may apply.To qualify for a Resiliency grant, your organization must be seeking urgent or time-sensitive funding to address critical needs in the health and human services sector during periods of disruption or community stress.
