Overview

Sigma/American Nurses Credentialing Center Evidence-Based Practice Implementation Grant Purpose The Sigma/American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Evidence-Based Practice Implementation Grant encourages nurses in clinical settings to apply evidence to practice and evaluate the effects on patient outcomes. Funding Grants available: 1 annually Funding: US $20,000 Funds for this grant are provided by Sigma Foundation for Nursing and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The grant will be evaluated and awarded based on the quality of the proposal which includes: background and significance; problem statement including EBP model; evidence synthesis providing support for proposed intervention; goals with time frame; estimated magnitude for improvement to patient care and outcomes; implementation strategy; evaluation plan for implementation and outcomes; budget.

Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria:Principal project lead must be a registered nurse (or country equivalent) with current license and have at least a master's in nursing (or country equivalent.) Principal project lead must be a member of either American Nurses Association or Sigma. Proposed EBP project can be inter-professional in design, but must be nurse-led. EBP project implementation site in a clinical setting. IRB approval or documentation of a similar process will be required prior to funding. It is not required to submit a proposal. Must be ready to initiate project when funding is received. Must complete project within eighteen (18) months of funding; no cost extensions are not available for this grant. Included with proposal, a letter of support with contact information for agency/institution affirming consent for the project, must be uploaded and submitted in the appendices section of the application. Submit a final report to ANCC and Sigma as well as submit a completed abstract or full paper to the Sigma Repository to receive final grant disbursement, if owed.Letters of agreement will be emailed to the project lead only after the completed application deadline.Grant recipient or proxy must be present at an to accept the award. You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member. Principal project lead must be a member of either American Nurses Association or Sigma.

Ineligibility

Funds for this grant do not cover expenses incurred prior to the funding date, nor do they cover publication costs or travel for presentations.
