Overview

Apply for an Iowa History Dissertation Fellowship from the State Historical Society of Iowa to support historical research on a topic related to Iowa history. Fellowships are available to advanced graduate students working on dissertations that engage any aspect of Iowa history in any time period, including pre-statehood up through the recent past. Dissertations do not need to focus exclusively on Iowa history but should demonstrate substantial engagement with Iowa history. At the conclusion of the fellowship, fellows will meet in Des Moines and present their work in a workshop that will include other fellows, State Historical Society of Iowa staff, and an invited commenter.
