The SETAC North America Professional Excellence Award recognizes members who exemplify the principles and values of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC). Awardees are honored for their exceptional contributions to advancing environmental science and promoting SETAC’s mission through leadership, collaboration, and education. Recipients receive a certificate, a complimentary one-year membership, and may also benefit from complimentary registration to a SETAC meeting, depending on the President's discretion.Overview
NOTE: Nominations can be made from January–May for acknowledgement at the following SETAC North America annual meeting. Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) SETAC’s mission is to advance environmental science and management. SETAC is dedicated to advancing environmental science and science-informed decision-making through collaboration, communication, education and leadership. We fulfill that purpose through events, publications, awards and education programs. SETAC North America Professional Excellence Award SETAC North America bestows awards on members who exemplify SETAC principles and values and promote SETAC’s mission in their professional life or their volunteer work for the society. Recipients of the Excellence Awards will be recognized in SETAC communications. Recipients will receive a certificate acknowledging their special contribution and a complimentary one-year SETAC membership. In some instance, the award may also be accompanied with a complimentary registration to a SETAC meeting, at the SETAC North America President’s discretion.Eligibility

Awards recognize members for exceptional work promoting SETAC’s mission, in areas including but not exclusive to the following:Service to SETAC North AmericaLeadership of a SETAC committee, group or regional chapter Stewardship of a new or existing SETAC North America programContribution to a SETAC activity (e.g., focused topic meeting, workshop, symposium)Promoting the mission of SETAC in their workPromoting SETAC’s mission and values in the fieldEncouraging collaborations towards advancing environment sciencePromoting multistakeholder engagement and science-based decision making towards improved environmental qualityProviding significant contributions to environmental education either through educating students or other educatorsSelf-nominations are welcome. You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member.
