Program Background: The ServeWEL Scholarship Program began in 2006 when Joe Wiseman, an active resident of Wesley Enhanced Living Upper Moreland, proposed the idea as an effective tool for employee retention. The program was designed to support college-bound employees and recognize the determination and intelligence of student workers, particularly dining servers continuing their employment while pursuing higher education. Now in its 13th+ year (as of 2020), the program has awarded over $90,000 in total scholarships.

Eligible Recipients: College-bound student employees of Wesley Enhanced Living, particularly high school juniors, seniors, and college students employed at Wesley Enhanced Living communities

Purpose: Financial assistance for higher education expenses

35% from community fundraisers including Casino Night, Graduation Carnival, and Bake/Hoagie sales
