Asian Pacific Fund Scholarships

Geographic Scope: United States-based colleges and universities (applicants must meet residency requirements specified in each program)

Focus Areas:

• Support for undergraduate students
• Support for graduate students
• Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander students from low-income families

Award Details:

• Multiple scholarship programs available

Eligible Applicants:

• Graduating high school seniors (incoming college freshmen) - many programs
• Current undergraduate students - some programs
• Graduate students - limited options (e.g., Hsiao Memorial Social Sciences Scholarship)
• International students - NOT eligible; scholarships limited to US-based institutions
• Students of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander descent
• Students from low-income families

Application Requirements:

• Meet eligibility criteria specific to each scholarship program
• Submit separate application for each scholarship program
• Submit required documents for each program (applications judged separately)
• Short essay questions (250-500 words) addressing:
  • Academic and career goals
  • Community involvement
  • Financial need
  • Personal hardship
• Letter of recommendation from counselor, teacher, or professor
• First and last name and scholarship program name included with all materials

Graduate Program Example:

• Hsiao Memorial Social Sciences Scholarship - for graduate students pursuing higher degree in economics/social sciences

Scholarship Application Process

1. Determine Eligibility
   • Review eligibility criteria listed under each scholarship program
   • Check eligibility criteria on the first page of each application
   • Verify residency requirements
   • Confirm you meet specific program requirements
2. Submit Required Materials
   • Complete scholarship application form
   • Write short essays (250-500 words) addressing:
   • Academic and career goals
   • Community involvement
   • Financial need
   • Personal hardship
   • Provide letter of recommendation from counselor, teacher, or professor
3. Letter of Recommendation
   • Request letter from counselor, teacher, or professor who can speak to:
   • Their experiences with you as a student
   • How well you fit within the scholarship program criteria
   • Include your first and last name and scholarship program name with the letter
   • Two submission options:
   • Forward to you to upload with application
   • Email directly to: scholarship@asianpacificfund.org
4. Submit Application
   • Upload all required materials
   • Submit online by published deadline
   • Submit separate application for each scholarship program
   • Include required documents for each program
5. Follow Up
   • Receive email notification of application status
   • Timeline: Most decisions made by July 1
