Scholarships

Overview: Centre Foundation administers a variety of scholarships to support education of students in Centre County and certain out-of-county school districts. The foundation provides over $400,000 in scholarships to more than 200 local students each year.

Geographic Scope: All Centre County school districts; students from certain school districts outside Centre County

Eligible Student Categories:

  • High school seniors (Centre County school districts)

  • Students from certain districts outside Centre County

  • Current college students

  • Returning adult students
  • Eligibility: Each scholarship fund has specific eligibility requirements that reflect the passions or interests of the donor who created the scholarship endowment fund

    Application Method: Students apply through Centre Foundation's online scholarship portal (Scholarship Lifecycle Manager - SLM)

    Selection Process: Applications are reviewed and awarded by scholarship committees assigned as specified in fund agreements and in coordination with school district and post-secondary school counseling departments

    Centre County High School Application Dates:

  • Bellefonte Area High School: March 2, 2026 – March 23, 2026

  • Bald Eagle Area High School: December 16, 2025 – February 17, 2026

  • Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School: February 9, 2026 – April 17, 2026

  • State College Area High School: February 16, 2026 – March 16, 2026

  • Penns Valley Area High School: TBD
  • Note: Scholarships for returning adult students or current college students open at different times; check with your post-secondary school for specific dates.
