Scholarship for Education and Economic Development (SEED)
Overview: The SEED program provides scholarships to students working in Los Alamos County to help local employers recruit and retain employees while developing employee knowledge and skills.
Geographic Scope: Los Alamos County
Partners: University of New Mexico-Los Alamos (UNM-LA), Regional Development Corporation (RDC), and Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce
Award Type: Free tuition
Award Amount: Up to 6 credits per semester
- Employee of a Los Alamos business
- Works half-time or more
- Currently enrolled or intending to enroll at UNM-LA
Eligibility Requirements
Program Benefits: Provides an "employee benefit" for small businesses that might not be able to offer educational benefits to employees otherwise.
Pilot Period: Program piloted in Spring semester 2022
