Overview

The Scarlett Family Foundation I-2 Scholarship aims to support current scholars enrolled in four-year colleges or universities in Middle Tennessee. This award provides supplemental funding for internships and special programs, reinforcing the Foundation's commitment to quality education. Established by Joe and Dorothy Scarlett in 2006, the Foundation has awarded over $23 million in scholarships, focusing on career readiness and literacy initiatives to empower students and enhance their educational outcomes.

With the help of their children, they put this belief into action by establishing the Scarlett Family Foundation in 2006 to provide merit and need-based college scholarships to Middle Tennessee students pursuing business degrees.
In 2008 the Foundation added grant-making, partnering with non-profit organizations to help all Middle Tennessee students received a high-quality education. Today, these grants align with four key initiatives— college and career readiness, principal and teacher leadership, literacy, and advocacy.
In 2015, the Foundation expanded the scholarship program to include STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) majors. Since 2006, the Scarlett Family Foundation has awarded over $23M in college scholarships, helping more than 870 students pursue higher education degrees.
The Foundation’s cornerstone initiative is the Scarlett Scholars program, providing need and merit based scholarships to Middle Tennessee students. As we work to provide students access to a high-quality education, we also award a limited number of grants to non-profit organizations in alignment with our three key initiatives:
