SBIR/STTR Funding Programs

Overview: Central Maine Growth Council provides information and support for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) federal funding programs.

    Eligibility Requirements (must meet ALL):

  • Business employs 500 or fewer employees (including affiliates)
  • Business is at least 51% owned and operated by a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Business is a for-profit entity (or will form one)
  • Business is located in the United States
  • SBIR Only: Principal Investigator (main researcher) must devote at least 51% time to the business (not required for STTR)
